The agent of Ronald Koeman and Erwin Koeman has confirmed that the Dutchmen are closing on taking over at Southampton.

Ronald, who left his post as Feyenoord coach at the end of the season, has been interviewed by Southampton and impressed the Premier League club, who are looking for a new manager following the departure of Mauricio Pochettino.

Ronald wants to take his brother Erwin to St. Mary's as his assistant and it looks increasingly likely that the former RKC Waaljwik boss will also head to England.

Kees Ploegsma told Voetbal International: "It is true that there are talks happening.

"The idea is that Ronald is head coach and Erwin is his assistant."
