Southampton are set to have two brothers in charge of the team, with Ronald Koeman set to take Erwin Koeman with him to the Premier League club.

Ronald, who left his job as Feyenoord coach at the end of the season, had first spoken to Southampton some weeks ago and it had been felt he was moving out of the managerial picture.

However, the Saints are impressed with the former Barcelona defender and are keen for him to succeed Mauricio Pochettino, who has headed to Tottenham Hotspur.

According to Dutch daily De Telegraaf, Ronald told brother Erwin not to extend an expiring contract with RKC Waalwijk, in order to head with him to Southampton as his assistant.

Erwin, a former midfielder who made 31 appearances for the Netherlands between 1983 and 1994, has had several high-profile spells as a manager in his own right.

Erwin's brother Ronald is now thought to be the only candidate for the Southampton job after the Saints were extremely impressed after interviews with him.
