Chelsea may not stop their midfield additions at Cesc Fabregas, with the Blues now drawing up a lucrative contract offer to tempt Toni Kroos away from Bayern Munich.

Jose Mourinho's men recently snapped up Fabregas, signing the Spain international from Barcelona for a fee of €33m and handing him the number 4 shirt.

Kroos, who is currently at the World Cup in Brazil with Germany, has long been linked with a move to England, with Manchester United persistent suitors.

However, Mourinho's old club Real Madrid are also in the mix, spying a potential bargain in a player whose contract with Bayern Munich expires in 2015 and who shows no signs of putting pen to paper on an extension.

Now, according to German daily Bild, Mourinho is prepared for Chelsea to enter the race for the technically gifted midfielder.

Indeed, the Blues are thought to have a five-year contract, with an €8.5m net salary, prepared to tempt Kroos to London.

Such a sum is far in excess of that proposed by Bayern Munich for a contract extension and could turn Kroos' head towards Stamford Bridge.

Kroos was in action for Germany today in their 4-0 rout of Portugal at the World Cup and is unlikely to take a call on his future until after the tournament.
