Liverpool are continuing to hold off pulling the trigger on the signing of Alberto Moreno from Sevilla as they investigate alternatives, including Ajax defender Daley Blind.

The Reds had agreed a fee of €20m plus a further €2m in add-ons for Moreno, but amid wranglings over the structure of the payments, pulled back from completing the deal.

The Premier League runners-up have agreed a contract with Moreno, which would see him pen a five-year deal and earn €1.5m per year. But they are worried they are overpaying for the Spain international.

The deal is now in limbo as Liverpool assess their options.

And according to Seville-based daily Estadio Deportivo, that means considering alternatives to Moreno and their cost.
