West Ham have jumped into the race for Parma midfielder Marco Parolo.

The 29-year-old midfielder, who is currently in Brazil as part of Italy's World Cup squad, has already been linked with Lazio.

However, with the Rome-based club having hesitated to pay the €8m-€10m demanded by Roma for Parolo, West Ham are ready to steal in and seal a deal.

According to Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset, the Hammers are prepared to meet Parma's asking price.

A deal is not likely to be quickly sealed however, with Parolo in Brazil and Parma hoping a series of good performances for the former Como youngster will allow them to up his price and also see an increase in suitors.
