Miroslav Klose has become the joint-record goalscorer in World Cup history after finding the back of the net in Germany's 2-2 draw against Ghana this evening.

Germany took the lead in the World Cup encounter through Mario Gotze in the 51st minute, before Ghana quickly hit back, Andre Ayew equalising only three minutes later.

Then Ghana shocked the Germans, grabbing the lead after superb finishing from Asamoah Gyan in the 63rd minute.

But Klose, brought on as a 69th minute substitute, needed just two minutes to draw the Germans level, prodding home a leveller in the 71st minute.

The striker moves Klose to 15 goals scored at World Cup finals, level with Brazilian legend Ronaldo.

Ronaldo himself surpassed German Gerd Muller's record for goals at World Cups, bagging his 15th in the 2006 World Cup held in Germany.

Klose will surely have a chance to reclaim the record for a German outright before the 2014 World Cup is over.
