Former Everton defender John Heitinga has completed a move to Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin.

The Dutchman joined Fulham from Everton in January this year on a short-term deal and has moved on from Craven Cottage following the Cottagers' relegation from the Premier League.

Heitinga told his new club's official site: "I'm looking forward to Hertha."

Hertha Berlin will be the 30-year-old defender's first taste of Bundesliga football.

Heitinga started his career at the esteemed Ajax youth academy and progressed through the ranks into the club's first team.
