Scottish giants Rangers have snapped up former Hearts defender Ismael Bouzid on a short-term trial.

The defender is a free agent and most recently turned out for Kilmarnock. Now he is looking for a new challenge and Rangers have handed the player a chance to impress.




Bouzid, who has won 13 caps for Algeria, made 64 appearances over two seasons with Hearts between 2009 and 2011.

The 30-year-old started his career in the esteemed Metz youth academy, graduating to the senior side and then moving on to Union Berlin.

 


Rangers won promotion to the Scottish Championship last season and will be bidding to complete their journey back to the top flight next term.

Bouzid, who has played his football in France, Germany, Algeria, Turkey, Greece and the United Arab Emirates, in addition to Scotland, will hope to be part of the journey.
