Sporting director Nicola Salerno has admitted he may be interested in signing Fabrizio Grillo for English Championship side Leeds United.

Salerno recently departed his role at Cagliari, following the sale of the Serie A club by Leeds owner Massimo Cellino.

He fielded an offer to join Cellino at Leeds, as well as an approach from Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini.

And Salerno has revealed that not only is he linking up with Cellino once again, but that he is also already hard at work on potential signings for the Yorkshire giants.

And Salerno admits that Grillo, a left-back who spent the second half last season at Varese in Serie B, having started the season with Siena, is a possibility.

"You do not miss a thing", Salerno laughed to Itasportpress when asked if Grillo is in his sights.

"Yes he is a player that I respect and in whom I might be interested", he added.

Grillo started his career in the youth ranks at hometown side Roma, but failed to make the breakthrough to the club's senior team and moved on in 2007 to Arezzo.

The left-back has represented Italy at Under-15, Under-16 and Under-17 level.
