The Uruguay squad and the country's FA have decided to stand by Luis Suarez, despite the latest controversy surrounding him.

Suarez was suspended for nine international matches and was banned for four months from all football related activities by the FIFA disciplinary committee yesterday, for biting Giorgio Chiellini in Uruguay’s win over Italy.

The Uruguayan FA, who will appeal, have decided to give every legal aid possible to Suarez and their lawyer, Jorge Barrera, has said that they will keep defending their player until all legal options are exhausted.

"As an association, we will defend the player to the last legal resort", Barrera told Radio Marca.

The Uruguay squad have also decided to stand by their team-mate and defender Diego Lugano said yesterday that he feels a sense of “outrage” and “impotence”.

"Outrage, impotentce. I think that's what we all feel", Lugano wrote on his Facebook page.

"We would all like a more just world, but that world simply does not exist.

"Those in command, who lead and are strong, they do not judge us by the same law."
