Leeds United president Massimo Cellino is closing on two players from Italy: Daniele Cacia and Marco Silvestri.

Cellino, who is leading Leeds' transfer activity this summer, is making use of his extensive contacts in the Italian game as he seeks to bolster the squad at Elland Road.

The Leeds supremo knows goalkeeper Silvestri from his time as Cagliari owner, the 22-year-old custodian having turned out for the Rossoblu last term.

Cacia meanwhile, who operates as a striker, turned out for Hellas Verona last season, featuring only sporadically for the Serie A outfit.

However, the 30-year-old was prolific for Verona in Serie B in 2012/13, scoring 24 goals in 39 games, the kind of firepower Cellino is keen to bring to Leeds.
