Eintracht Frankfurt coach Thomas Schaaf has set his heart on capturing Marko Marin from Chelsea this summer.

Marin spent last term on loan at Sevilla in Spain, having headed to La Liga for the regular first team football which had eluded him at Chelsea.

He is likely to find the task no easier upon his return and several clubs are now jockeying for position to tempt him away from Stamford Bridge.

Eintracht Frankfurt are prepared to pay around the €7m mark to sign the former Werder Bremen man with Schaaf having urged the club to buy him, according to the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.

Schaaf worked with Marin during his time as Werder Bremen coach, the winger having spent three years at the club (2009 to 2012).

And Schaaf is keen to rekindle that relationship at Eintracht Frankfurt ahead of the new season.

A move to Die Adler would not be a leap into the unknown for Marin, as the 25-year-old spent time in the youth ranks at the club between 1996 and 2005, before moving on to Borussia Monchengladbach.

Marin helped Sevilla to win the Europa League last term.
