Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has admitted an interest in Swansea forward Michu and Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva.

The Azzurri are thought to be closing in on a season-long loan deal for Michu, while they are also keen on adding Lucas to their midfield, a man coach Rafael Benitez bought for Liverpool during his time in charge at Anfield.

Napoli are working hard on strengthening this summer and De Laurentiis admits he would like a new face at the club's Dimaro training camp.

"Michu and Leiva? We continue to monitor the situation", De Laurentiis told Sky Italia.

"We're having discussions, probably we're also doing some contract drafting.

"Well, I would like to take someone to Dimaro."

Napoli finished third in Serie A last season, securing qualification to next season's Champions League, while they also collected the Coppa Italia.

And De Laurentiis has complete faith in Benitez, with whom he says he is in complete agreement.

"I am very calm.

"Benitez gives me peace of mind, we've been agreed since the first meeting.

"Fans can say what they want, but we cannot just buy to satisfy them, and not just replace or develop other players."
