Lyon have entered the race for United States right-back DeAndre Yedlin, having been captivated by his performances at the World Cup for Jurgen Klinsmann's men.
Yedlin is being chased by Italian side Roma, who have made positive sounds about securing his signature within the coming days following a bid being submitted for the Seattle Sounders youngster.
The American has been invited to spend time training with Liverpool, while Belgian champions Anderlecht and Serie A side Genoa are also keen.
Now Lyon have taken a firm step forward, according to French sports daily L'Equipe, with the club contacting the player's entourage to register their interest.

However, while Lyon are keen on Yedlin, they are concerned about the financial cost of any deal and will only proceed if the defender fits into their budget.
Yedlin has won seven caps for the United States so far in his career, since making his senior debut earlier this year.
