Next week will be crucial in determining the future of AIK midfielder Robin Quaison, who is being chased by Serie A side Palermo and English Championship outfit Leeds United.

Quaison, a hugely promising young Swedish starlet, was recommended to Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini by Nicola Salerno, the former Cagliari sporting director who came close to joining Palermo, but now works alongside ex-Cagliari owner Massimo Cellino at Leeds.

According to Italian daily Tuttosport, Palermo are stepping up their efforts to sign Quaison, but face strong opposition from Leeds.

Talks will take place over the next week as each of the AIK player's suitors seek to understand the exact financial needs of a deal.

The 20-year-old midfielder, who has been tipped for big things, was snapped up by Swedish giants AIK in 2012 from Vasby United.
