Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is taking a keen interest in Algeria World Cup star Yacine Brahimi.

The 24-year-old midfielder, who turns out in La Liga for Granada, further enhanced his growing reputation at the World Cup with the Desert Foxes, who reached the last 16.




Brahimi has already been linked with a number of clubs this summer, a group that includes English Premier League outfit Tottenham Hotspur.

Now, according to Spanish outlet Fichajes, Chelsea are muscling into the race, with Mourinho having been impressed with Brahimi's feats in Brazil.

 


The midfielder made 35 appearances in La Liga for Granada last term, chipping in with three goals along the way as the club recorded a finish of 15th.

A graduate of the esteemed Clairefontaine youth academy in France, Brahimi came through the ranks at Rennes, enjoying a loan stint at Clermont and then Granada, before the Spanish side signed him on a permanent basis.

The 24-year-old represented France at every youth level before opting to play for Algeria.
