Liverpool are ready to move for Lyon forward Alexandre Lacazette after missing out on Alexis Sanchez.

Brendan Rodgers' men had been chasing Sanchez and hoped to include the Chile winger in the agreement to sell Luis Suarez to Barcelona. However, Sanchez made clear his desire to join Arsenal and signed for the Gunners last week.

Now Liverpool are looking for alternatives and, according to French outlet Mercato 365, Rodgers is keen on Lacazette.

The forward is understood to be on the Liverpool manager's shortlist of attacking options and Lyon are thought ready to sell Lacazette for the right price.

The 23-year-old has also been interesting Newcastle United, however he is only willing to leave Lyon for a team in the Champions League, a box the Magpies cannot tick.
