Leeds United are keen on Cardiff City defender Mark Hudson as a potential summer addition, as they look to bolster their backline.

The Yorkshire giants had all but done a deal to sign Switzerland defender Jonathan Rossini, but in a remarkable turn of events, pulled out of the transfer at the weekend, with Leeds' owner Massimo Cellino questioning the player's attitude at their Italian training base.

The hunt for a defender goes on for the Elland Road side, with Catania's Giuseppe Bellusci a potential addition.

However, Leeds also have eyes in the domestic market too, with experienced centre-back Hudson now firmly on their radar, according to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato.

The 32-year-old has been at Cardiff since joining the Bluebirds from Charlton Athletic in 2009, becoming a fixture at the club and aiding the push to promotion in the 2012/13 campaign, when the side won the Championship.

However Hudson, who has made over 150 appearances for the Welsh outfit, was unable to help them avoid relegation from the Premier League last season.

It remains to be seen if he will look favourably on a move to Cellino's Leeds.
