New Besiktas signing Demba Ba has declared that he will give his all to not disappoint the Black Eagles’ faithful.

The striker has joined the Turkish outfit from Chelsea after failing to nail down a regular starting spot at Stamford Bridge.

Ba, who underwent his medical with Besiktas yesterday, signed for the Blues from their Premier League rivals Newcastle United in January 2013.

However, the Senegalese international managed to score just 14 goals in 51 appearances in all competitions for Chelsea and was deemed surplus to requirements by manager Jose Mourinho.

But the 29-year-old, who insisted that he is open to competition at Besiktas, is excited by the prospect of playing at the Vodafone Arena in a Muslim country.

“I’ve had a lot of positive feedback about Besiktas JK and Istanbul from my Senegalese friends in Turkey”, the forward told the club’s official site.

“To play in a Muslim country and in a new stadium is definitely very exciting. I know what my coach Slaven Bilic expects from me, and I am open to all sorts of competition.

“Since Besiktas fans like hard-working and spirited players, I will give everything I’ve got in order to not to disappoint them.”

Ba, who had a further two years left on his current contract with Chelsea, has 20 caps and four goals for Senegal to his name.
