Leeds United are shaping up to battle Chievo Verona for the signature of Napoli defender Alessandro Gamberini, who is due to decide his future tomorrow morning.

The centre-back spent last term on loan at Serie A side Genoa and is looking to ensure regular first team football in the new campaign.

Gamberini has a further year remaining on his contract at Napoli, but appears surplus to requirements for the Azzurri.

According to Sky Italia, Chievo and Leeds are both chasing the experienced stopper and he is due to make a firm decision about what he wishes to do tomorrow morning.

Napoli snapped up the defender along with Valon Behrami in 2012, in a joint deal which cost the southern Italian outfit €8.5m.
