Liverpool are close to wrapping up a deal for Divock Origi, with the Lille forward expected to undergo a medical with the Merseyside giants later in the week, according to the BBC.

The Belgian international, who impressed at the World Cup, will fly off to the United States this week to put the finishing touches to his move to Anfield.




Borussia Dortmund and Tottenham Hotspur were also interested in the 19-year-old, but it is believed that the Reds have won the race to land Origi.

Liverpool, who are presently in USA for their pre-season tour, are also expected to thrash out a deal for QPR striker Loic Remy by the end of the week.
 


Origi joined Lille’s youth set-up from Genk in 2012 and scored in his competitive debut for the French club in February, 2013.

The starlet, who has a further two years left on his present contract with Lille, is expected to return to Stade Pierre-Mauroy on loan for the 2014/15 campaign, as part of the deal with Liverpool.
