Real Madrid have agreed terms with Monaco for the transfer of James Rodriguez, according to Spanish daily AS.

The Colombia international, who won the Golden Boot at the World Cup after scoring six times in the showpiece event, has been linked with a move to Los Blancos, following his splendid displays in Brazil.

The clubs reached an agreement on the transfer last night after weeks of negotiations, although there are a few minor details which need to be ironed out to conclude the deal.

Monaco want Real Madrid goalkeeper Digeo Lopez as part of the €80m deal, but the goalkeeper is keen to prolong his stay at the capital club.

However, the Champions League winners are optimistic about announcing the transfer by Wednesday.
