FC Porto are set to scoop a payment of around €1.2m from James Rodriguez's move to Real Madrid.

Rodriguez has today completed a switch from Monaco to Real Madrid for a fee of between €75m and €80m, an amount which represents a substantial profit for Monaco, who paid €45m to sign him last summer.

Monaco bought the Colombian from Porto – and now, due to rules governing the training of players, the Portuguese giants are set to receive a further chunk of cash.

Five per cent of the fee Real Madrid have paid must be distributed amongst the clubs who have trained and developed Rodriguez, of which Porto are one.

The Portuguese side should be entitled to 1.5 per cent of the total fee, meaning they could bank €1.2m.
