Leeds United have won the race to sign Roma midfielder Federico Viviani and could even announce his signing later today.

The promising 22-year-old midfielder spent last season on loan in Serie B with Latina Calcio, an arrangement the club had been keen to continue given his performances in aiding their run to the playoffs.

Having arrived back from holiday recently, Viviani has been weighing up his preferred two options and, according to Sky Italia, has chosen Leeds.

Viviani is expected to sign for the Yorkshire giants on a season-long loan deal, with the switch in its final stages.

It is still unclear whether the agreement will contain a purchase option for the English side to snap up Viviani permanently should he impress at Elland Road.

Viviani had been chased by a number of clubs before narrowing his choice down to either Leeds or Latina Calcio.

Now he is set for an adventure in English football at Leeds, where he will join a number of players captured from the Italian market this summer.
