Crystal Palace and Sunderland are both on the trail of Marseille midfielder Morgan Amalfitano, who spent last season in the Premier League on loan at West Brom.

Amalfitano has now returned to Marseille, where the club's new coach Marcelo Bielsa is keen to count upon him for the forthcoming campaign.

However, Marseille are also not opposed to a departure for the right price, on account of Amalfitano having just one year left on his contract at the Stade Velodrome.

According to French sports daily L'Equipe, he is being chased by both Crystal Palace and Sunderland, who are hoping to snap him up in the coming weeks.

Amalfitano is rated at around the €2m mark and his stock remains high in England from his spell at the Hawthornes.
