Inter have been rebuffed in their efforts to sign Tottenham Hotspur winger Erik Lamela and Manchester City striker Stevan Jovetic.

The Nerazzurri recently made contact with the men at the top of both English clubs in order to push to sign the pair. However, according to Sky Italia, their efforts have met with failure.

Lamela joined Tottenham just last summer from Roma and his stock remains high in Serie A. Inter had been hoping to take the Argentine back to Italy, but Spurs are not willing to deal.

Jovetic, similarly to Lamela, had a lacklustre first season in English football, having joined Manchester City from Fiorentina last year.

The Citizens though are also unwilling to deal with Inter and have ruled out a departure for the Montenegro international.

Lamela and Jovetic, who both suffered with injuries at points last term, will now be looking to establish themselves at their respective clubs.

Inter meanwhile have been forced to turn their attentions elsewhere as they look to bolster their attacking power ahead of the upcoming campaign.

Walter Mazzarri’s men finished fifth in Serie A last term and are aiming to force their way into a Champions League spot in 2014/15.
