New Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has expressed his dissatisfaction regarding his side’s hectic pre-season schedule in the United States.

The Red Devils, who are up against LA Galaxy in Pasadena today in the Chevrolet Cup, will next travel to Denver, Washington and Detroit to play in the International Champions Cup.

And Van Gaal is of the opinion that such huge amount of travelling will seriously hamper the club’s preparation for the upcoming campaign.

"You have to travel distances, you have to fly a lot, you also have jetlag – that is not very positive for a good preparation", he was quoted as saying by the BBC.

The 62-year-old, who guided the Netherlands to the third spot at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, however insisted that he would adapt as the tour was pre-arranged.

"The tour was already arranged so I have to adapt – and Manchester United shall do everything to adapt to my rules for good preparation", he added.

But the former Ajax, Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss was quick to add that he would prefer a shorter pre-season tour next year.

"Yeah, I hope that [there will be a shorter tour next year].

"And I am very confident that it shall be."
