New Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has said that the club must adapt to him and his ideas while he tries to soak up the culture at Old Trafford.

A pre-season friendly against LA Galaxy, scheduled to be played tomorrow (UK time), will be the veteran manager's first game in charge and in spite of the apparently insignificant nature of the game, it will be the first such opportunity for the new boss to impress.

The former Barcelona coach is well aware of the kind of pressure that matches of any sort may pose when he is managing a club like Manchester United, but refuses to be bowed down by it.

On the contrary, he adds that he will try to acquaint himself with the culture at the club, while the fans also try to become familiar with his techniques.

"Maybe it is too big a club", Van Gaal told his club's official website.

"Not only in a sporting sense but also commercially.

"We have to do a lot of things that normally I don't allow.

"I have to adapt to this big club but I think also this big club has to adapt to Louis van Gaal. I hope we can have some balance to that."

The Red Devils will kick-off their domestic campaign against Swansea City on 16th August.
