Paris Saint-Germain have completed the signing of right-back Serge Aurier from Toulouse.

Aurier, who recently turned out at the World Cup with the Ivory Coast, has joined the French champions on a season-long loan deal, but with a mandatory purchase option, which will see €9.5m paid for the defender next summer.

The 21-year-old had been strongly linked with Arsenal earlier this summer, with claims the deal was all but done, but the Gunners eventually opted for Mathieu Debuchy, buying the Frenchman from Newcastle.

And PSG have stolen in to quickly do a deal for Aurier, with the club's president Nasser Al-Khelaifi delighted at the capture.

"Serge Aurier, one of the most promising young players in world football, courted by the biggest clubs, has chosen Paris Saint-Germain to continue to shine on the European stage", he told the club's site.

"We are delighted to welcome this young player into our team."

And Aurier himself, who was named the best right-back in Ligue 1 last season, has called his move to the Parc des Princes a dream come true.

"To play for Paris Saint-Germain, with the exceptional players this club has, is a dream come true. I will give my maximum to help the club reach the summits.

"After taking part in the World Cup for the first time, I am having a fantastic summer. I would like to thank the club for the confidence they have shown in me."
