Frank Lampard is unsure about his immediate future as New York City FC will not be in action until 2015.

The England international completed his switch to the MLS outfit from Chelsea earlier today on a free transfer.

New York City FC is a joint venture between the American baseball team New York Yankees and English champions Manchester City and will play in the MLS from next year.

The former West Ham man admits that he is unsure about his immediate future and said that he needs to discuss the situation with the club officials.

"I'm going to keep fit, that's the main thing", Lampard was quoted as saying by the BBC.

"How I do that is not clear yet, this has all just happened. I will sit down with people from the club and find the best way forward."

A loan move to another European club has also been talked about and New York City FC sporting director Claudio Reyna says "we are exploring a few options."

Lampard ended his 13-year stay with Chelsea after his contract expired earlier this summer. He made 626 appearances for the Blues and is the club’s record goalscorer with 208 goals.
