Chelsea's new signing Filipe Luis has insisted that his adaptation process has gone on well at his new club and with time he will be ready to play a bigger role for his side.

The left-back moved to Stamford Bridge from Atletico Madrid this summer, having signed a three-year contract with Jose Mourinho's team.




He in fact managed his first start for the Pensioners against Austrian outfit WAC RZ Pellets in a friendly yesterday playing alongside his new team-mates.

 


After the match the 28-year-old admitted that he is still at an early stage of trying to adapt to the new style at Chelsea, but believes that with time he will acquaint himself to his new club.

"It was really nice to play for the first time in a Chelsea shirt", Luis told Chelsea's official site.

"It’s still very new for me in terms of tactics and relationships with my team-mates, but my adaptation has been good.

"I know I’m not in the best condition physically yet but with training that will come and I will be ready to start the season."

Chelsea will play Slovenian outfit NK Olimpija Ljubljana in their second pre-season friendly on Sunday.
