Premier League outfit Swansea City have announced the signing of Ecuador international Jefferson Montero for an undisclosed fee.

The player in fact is manager Garry Monk's sixth signing this summer and is a clear sign of his intentions during the upcoming season.

The 24-year-old has signed a four-year deal with the Swans following his move from Mexican outfit Morelia for an undisclosed fee.

Montero has already joined his team-mates following his medical and will have the chance to work with other fresh recruits like Bafetimbi Gomis, Marvin Emnes, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Lukasz Fabianski.

He has managed a total of 43 caps for his country, helping them win the 2007 Pan American Games in Brazil.

Ecuador manager Reinaldo Rueda selected him for the 2014 World Cup, handing him his debut in a group stage match against Switzerland, which they lost 2-1.
