Inter and Cardiff City are continuing talks over the transfer of Gary Medel, with the Welsh side wanting a change in the structure of the deal.

Medel has agreed to join Inter from Cardiff, but a deal between the two clubs is requiring substantial work, even if it is almost over the line.

Cardiff have accepted Inter's proposal to pay the fee for the Chile international over three years, but have, according to Sky Italia, requested a change in the figures surrounding the deal.

Inter had been planning to pay €7m plus a further €2m in bonus payments. However, Cardiff now want €8m plus €1m in bonus payments.

An agreement is still expected to be hammered out between the two parties to allow Medel to move to Italy.

Cardiff only snapped up Medel last summer, from Sevilla, but he was unable to help the Welsh side avoid relegation from the Premier League.

Medel took part in the recently concluded World Cup, starring in an impressive Chile side.
