Lille coach Rene Girard has confirmed that the transfer saga surrounding striker Divock Origi is set to be resolved very soon.

Origi is on his way to the United States to undergo a medical with Liverpool, who appear to have won the race for his signature.

The Belgium international has been linked with a number of clubs this summer, including both Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid.

A condition of Lille's sale of the 19-year-old has been that he stay at the club for a further season on loan, something Liverpool have been willing to accommodate.

Pressed about the situation surrounding Origi at a press conference, Girard replied: "His case should be resolved."

Girard also confirmed he will still be able to count on the 19-year-old in the new campaign: "He will stay with us", the coach said.

Origi found the back of the net five times in 30 Ligue 1 games for the northern France outfit last season.

He is a product of Lille's youth system, having joined the club from Genk's youth set-up.
