Sunderland have completed the signing of left-back Patrick van Aanholt from fellow Premier League club Chelsea.
The fee Sunderland have paid to snap up the 23-year-old has not been disclosed, but Van Aanholt has penned a four-year deal at the Stadium of Light.
The Dutchman has spent the last two-and-a-half seasons on loan in his homeland at Vitesse, Chelsea's partner club in the Eredivisie.
Chelsea recalled Van Aanholt at the end of the season and now he has been sold.
Sunderland had been in the market for a new left-back and the club's boss Gus Poyet had set his sights on Marcos Alonso.
