Angel di Maria is growing increasingly impatient with Paris Saint-Germain and has threatened to listen to Manchester United, as the scramble to sign him takes another twist.

The Argentine is believed to be on his way out of Real Madrid this summer and PSG and Manchester United are the top contenders to land him.

The 26-year-old is more interested in signing for the French champions than the Red Devils, with an €8m per year contract waiting for him in Paris.

However, Di Maria is growing increasing frustrated with the time PSG are taking to complete a deal with Real Madrid to allow the move to proceed.

The 26-year-old has delivered an ultimatum to the French champions – either they make significant progress in the deal to sign him or he will listen to Manchester United’s overtures, according to Spanish daily AS.

The 20-time English champions are mooted as being willing to match Real Madrid’s asking price of €60m, but they have still to match PSG’s wage offer of €8m to Di Maria.

PSG are struggling to meet UEFA’s Financial Fair Play [FFP] Rules and they have already signed David Luiz for €50m this summer. They are trying to find an option to sign the Argentine without taking a hit from UEFA for breaching FFP rules.

The Parisians want to sign the 26-year-old on a season-long deal from Real Madrid, with a mandatory purchase option. It remains to be seen whether the Spaniards are willing to agree to such a deal though.
