Thierry Henry is a legend at Arsenal and his statue in front of Emirates speaks to the impact he made at the club, manager Arsene Wenger has stated.

The Gunners are in the US to play a friendly against New York Red Bulls and will have the chance to lock horns with the former France international later today.

The Gunners manager, who had good chemistry with the 36-year-old during his days in London, has nothing but praise for Arsenal's all-time leading goalscorer.

“He is a legend at the club", Wenger told his club's official site.

"If you ask every Arsenal fan ‘who is the [key] player of Arsenal?’ they will say Thierry Henry.

“He has a statue in front of the stadium – I think there are only two or three so that tells you what impact he has made."

Praising his technical qualities and superb physique, Wenger added that Henry is one such player who can learn from competition and excel in front of goal.

“I started him when he was 17 years old at Monaco and now he has already played 17 or 18 years at the top level.

"He has the technical qualities, a super physique and he is a very bright guy – and that means he learns from the competition."
