Metz are willing to open the door for in-demand striker Diafra Sakho to leave this summer, news which will place his suitors on alert, a group which includes Liverpool and Newcastle.

The striker finished as the top scorer in Ligue 2 last season, hitting the back of the net 20 times and impressing.

His feats had scouts flocking to watch Metz's matches, with the club's academy chief telling Inside Futbol: "Every game, there are around 15 international clubs who come to the matches to see him. English clubs are here."

And now the club's president, Bernard Serin, has conceded that Metz are willing to sell Sakho if the right offer lands on their doormat.

"He is under contract until 2017", Serin was quoted as saying by L'Equipe.

"We have agreed that if there is a very good offer, the door is open", he added.

However, the president was keen to insist that such a bid has not yet arrived, saying: "For now, there is no proposal."
