Paris Saint-Germain have left Edinson Cavani out of their Asian touring party, with the striker remaining in the French capital.

Officially Cavani has not travelled with the PSG squad due to a virus, however the news comes amid continuing links between the former Napoli man and Manchester United.

The striker's agent has met Manchester United officials on four occasions, as talk that the 27-year-old could make Old Trafford his new home continues to grow.

PSG have now arrived in Hong Kong, with their first pre-season game coming against local side Kitchee on Tuesday 29th July.

The French champions then head to the Chinese capital of Beijing, where they will lock horns with Guingamp in the Trophee des Champions, the traditional curtain-raiser for the French season, on 2nd August.

It is not yet clear whether Cavani will be fit enough to join the tour at a later date.

The striker was in action at this summer's World Cup as part of the Uruguay squad that reached the last 16.
