Marco Reus is happy with his recovery from an ankle injury and has revealed he can now run without issue.

Reus was kept out of Germany's World Cup squad with the ankle knock, picked up in a friendly before the tournament, and instantly set his sights on returning to fitness for his club side Borussia Dortmund.

The attacking midfielder is expected to be fit for the start of September and has given a positive report of his progress towards recovery.

Reus told German daily Bild: "I can again move freely and run normally during training.

"It is very important to me that I will soon have recovered.

Reus has been linked with the Dortmund exit door this summer, with Liverpool at the front of the queue to sign him.

Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp has insisted the 25-year-old will not be sold however.
