Barcelona are set to rekindle their interest in Liverpool defender Daniel Agger, a player they now believe the Reds will be willing to sell.

Agger has a big admirer at the Camp Nou in the shape of the club's sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta, who has pushed to bring the Danish defender to Catalunya over the last year.

Doing a deal with Liverpool has always proven tough, but as the Reds move to complete the signing of Croatia defender Dejan Lovren from Southampton, Agger could be offloaded by Brendan Rodgers' men.

And according to Catalan daily Sport, Barcelona are preparing to move for Agger once again.

The Spanish giants, who have already done business with Liverpool this summer to secure Luis Suarez, are hunting a new centre-back.

Barcelona recently snapped up left-back Jeremy Mathieu, but have yet to replace the retired Carles Puyol, who is now working as Zubizarreta's assistant.

Agger joined Liverpool in 2006, but of late has faced stiff competition for a starting spot, leading to reduced game time at Anfield.
