Liverpool have wrapped up a deal for Southampton centre-back Dejan Lovren, with the only thing missing the official announcement.

Lovren has undergone a medical with Liverpool after the Reds thrashed out a £20m fee with Southampton for the Croatia defender.

Now, amid the wreckage of striker Loic Remy seeing his move to Liverpool collapse, Lovren is set to seal his dream switch.

According to Sky Italia, the defender will pen a four-year contract with Liverpool which will see him take home a salary of £60,000 per week.

Southampton had been reluctant to lose the former Lyon player, who they only bought from the French giants last summer, but Lovren's insistence on joining Liverpool has pushed through the deal.

He will become the third player Liverpool have signed from Southampton this summer, following the captures of Rickie Lambert and Adam Lallana.

Liverpool could yet end up signing a fourth Southampton player, with Jay Rodriguez now being strongly linked with a move to Anfield.
