Barcelona are ready to reignite their interest in Atletico Madrid’s Brazilian defender Miranda.

Miranda’s future at the club has been a source of constant speculation this summer and Barcelona and Manchester United have been touted as the leading contenders to sign him.

Atletico Madrid rejected a bid for the 29-year-old from the Red Devils earlier this month and are keen to hold onto the centre-back for the defence of their title next season.

However, Barcelona’s summer-long search for defenders is leading them back into the race for the Brazilian and the Catalan giants are ready to reignite their interest in him, according to Catalunya-based daily Sport.

Miranda has a buy-out clause of €30m and Atletico Madrid are not ready to accept anything less than the touted figure.
