Arsenal's new signing David Ospina has revealed that discussions with manager Arsene Wenger were important in sealing his move to the Emirates Stadium.

The Colombian goalkeeper completed his move from Nice yesterday after signing a long-term contract with the Gunners.

The switch is believed to have cost Wenger's team somewhere around €4m, even though the exact amount has not been officially disclosed.

Ospina will team up with Poland international Wojciech Szczesny and Argentine goalkeeper Damian Martinez at the London-based club.

In his first interview post signing, the 25-year-old added that it was only after his "chat" with the French manager that he was convinced that it was the right decision that he was making.

"[He was] very influential [in my signing], we had a chat and he is a very experienced manager", Ospina told Arsenal's official site.

"Someone who is fair, correct and knows how to get the best out of his players."

The Colombian is being lined up for his Arsenal debut in the Emirates Cup, a pre-season friendly tournament which is scheduled to be played over next weekend.
