AC Milan are continuing talks with Arsenal and Joel Campbell's agent with the aim of signing the Costa Rica forward on loan, but the deal may be dependent on the Gunners winning the race for Douglas Costa.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is keen on Costa, who is unsettled at Ukrainian giants Shakhtar Donetsk on account of the fighting and political instability gripping the country.

A bid of £20m is mooted to be being prepared for Costa as Arsenal seek to persuade a reluctant Shakhtar Donetsk to sell.

According to Sky Italia, Milan are in constant contact with Arsenal and Campbell's agent, but have been made aware that the most likely course of action which would see the Gunners allow the forward to leave is if Costa arrives in north London.

Milan are looking to snap up Campbell on a season-long loan, with Rossoneri boss Filippo Inzaghi a firm fan of the forward.
