Real Madrid could earn a windfall of as much as €80m if they decide to sell Angel di Maria to Paris Saint-Germain this summer.

Di Maria’s future at the Santiago Bernabeu has been a source of constant speculation throughout the summer and he is believed to be on his way out of the club.

Carlo Ancelotti reacted to the speculation yesterday by saying that he has nothing new to report on the matter and the winger is expected to be back at training next month.

"Di Maria finished the World Cup and he's resting”, the Italian said.

"He will be back on 5th August to start [training] with his team-mates."

Despite the Real Madrid manager’s stance on the Argentine’s future, it is widely believed that Di Maria is ready to leave the club this summer and Manchester United and PSG are the leading contenders to land him.

However, PSG are touted as the Argentine’s most likely destination and the French champions are ready to blow their rivals out of the water with an offer of around €80m including various add-ons and bonus payment, according to Madrid-based daily Marca.

Earlier this summer a transfer fee of around €50m had been touted, but the Parisians are ready to up the ante to see off Manchester United’s challenge.

PSG have been sitting on the Di Maria deal a little longer than expected as they are trying to assess options to sign him without upsetting UEFA’s financial fair play rules, including bringing the Argentine initially to Paris on a loan deal.
