New Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri has insisted that Manchester United target Arturo Vidal will remain at the club next season.

The Chilean international has been heavily linked with a move to England this summer, but the Italian champions have maintained their 'not for sale' stance, refusing to let one of their key players leave.

And now their newly appointed manager has refuted suggestions Vidal will leave by claiming that the 27-year-old is happy at the club and will be staying put in spite of all the interest in his services.

"Vidal is fundamental for Juventus and not just in practical terms", Allegri told his club's official site.

"He is very motivated and he is happy to stay."

Vidal underwent an operation on his right knee at the end of last season. However, he played for his country in the World Cup and was instrumental in leading his side to the last 16 of the tournament, where they lost to hosts Brazil.

Fitness though continued to be a concern with the former AC Milan boss admitting that he had spoken to Vidal to satisfy himself of his match-readiness.

"I spoke to him to satisfy myself of his physical condition as he was operated on and then played a World Cup, so he will train on a special schedule for a few days", the 46-year-old added.
