Edinson Cavani's relationship with Paris Saint-Germain coach Laurent Blanc has broken down, further adding to speculation that the striker, linked with Manchester United, will be on the move this summer.

The Uruguayan striker missed the start of PSG's trip to Asia for a mini two-game tour, suffering from a virus, but was forced to head out over the weekend to join up with his team-mates.

The atmosphere is thought to be tense, with Cavani's relationship with Blanc virtually non-existent, according to Italian broadcaster Sportitalia.

Cavani has met with his agents on several occasions as he looks for options away from PSG, where he grew frustrated last season at being shifted out of position to accommodate Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The former Napoli man's representatives are also thought to have met with Manchester United officials on four occasions as they work hard to extricate their client from his current situation at the Parc des Princes.

Cavani is now waiting to see if PSG's bid to sign Angel di Maria from Real Madrid changes his situation.

The French champions are struggling to afford the Argentine winger while adhering to UEFA's financial fair play rules. And Di Maria's €8m per year salary, combined with a substantial transfer fee, may mean the club are open to selling Cavani.
