Eintracht Frankfurt have roped in former Werder Bremen and Borussia Dortmund striker Nelson Valdez from Al Jazira Club.

The Paraguay international, who spent the latter part of the 2013/14 season on loan at Olympiacos, have put pen to paper on a two-year deal with the Eagles which will keep him at the Commerzbank-Arena until 2016.

The move also reunited Valdez with new Frankfurt boss Thomas Schaaf, under whom he won the German domestic double of the Bundesliga and the DFB-Pokal in the 2003/04 season.

And Frankfurt sporting director Bruno Hubner was ecstatic with the signing as he feels the experienced forward will once again forge a successful partnership with Schaaf.

"In Nelson Valdez we’ve been able to sign a player for Eintracht Frankfurt, who brings with him a wealth of experience and has already enjoyed a lot of success working with Thomas Schaaf”, he was quoted as saying by the Bundesliga’s official site.

“We’re delighted to have him on board."

Valdez, who joined Werder Bremen from Tembetary in 2001, left for their Bundesliga rivals Dortmund after five seasons at the Weserstadion.

The 30-year-old has scored 40 goals and provided 24 assists in 220 Bundesliga appearances for the two clubs combined.
