New Chelsea signing Didier Drogba has credited manager Jose Mourinho for his return to Stamford Bridge, admitting that it was difficult for him to say no to the Portuguese.

The Ivory Coast international signed a one-year deal with his former club after leaving Galatasaray this summer.

While speaking about the move, Drogba said that once the offer arrived from Mourinho, it was impossible for him to say no, as he had so many nice memories of the club.

"It was an easy decision to make, it’s very difficult to say no to Jose and to Chelsea", Drogba told his club's official site.

Mourinho had been instrumental in bringing Drogba to Chelsea in 2004 and under his reign the 36-year-old flourished to become one of the greatest strikers in the world.

"He’s the one who gave me a chance to play in the Premier League. We won so many trophies together and so many matches on the pitch.

"His relationship is not only with me, it’s with all the players who were here from the beginning of the story.

"It’s quite emotional but the most important thing is that we want to win, win, win."
